Community members from Nangiloc and district are invited to attend the Nangiloc website launch on Wednesday July 29.

The main launch will be held at the Nangiloc/Colignan Primary School at 7.00pm following a website preview from 3.30-4.30pm.

The website was developed with the support of the Nangiloc / Colignan and District Community Association as part of the community plan.

Much work has gone into filling the site with information on local community and sporting groups, local news stories and community services.

But really, the website is for and by the community to plan and promote upcoming events.

"As part of a small community that works hard, everyone is busy and wears at least a few volunteer hats," says website volunteer Fiona Murdoch.

"So when it comes to fundraising events, you need to make sure everyone comes and that events don't clash with one another."

To let the community know about upcoming events the Community had the option of either providing limited paper-copies of its community newsletter River Ramblings, or on our a local notice-board.

"We thought we could go two better by distributing the community newsletter online and having a page set up to advertise local events."

The launch will be a real community affair, combining the talents of the website volunteers, primary school, kindergarten, landcare group and community association. Not to mention real coffee, hot chocolate and supper will be provided by the Nangiloc and District Kindergarten parents.

The website launch is kindly hosted by the Kulkyne Way Landcare Group - a local organisation who can assist anyone wishing to carry out re-vegetation, particularly collecting and sowing seed of native plants.

The Community Association applied for use of the domain name http://www.nangiloc.vic.au/

through non-profit organisation .au Community Domains (auCD). AuCD have helped communities all over Australia to create a home on the internet, including other communities in north-west Victoria: http://www.ouyen.vic.au/, http://www.birchip.vic.au/, http://www.charlton.vic.au/, http://www.sealake.vic.au/ and http://www.wycheproof.vic.au/

Then .au Community Domains provided the Nangiloc community with an easy to use website building program Community Site in a Box, free until June 30 next year.
